Well, I'm very excited to dive in to the magical and yet often confusing world of minerals and sleep. But before we even get there to like the how and what to do.

How did you become the woman of minerals, if you will? I don't know if people call you that, but Well, people, yeah, people call me the mineral geek because Mineral geek, yes, that's right. You know, I couldn't stop talking about how minerals changed my life. And, and I was definitely a person, I've had insomnia my entire life.

Um, and before I started taking plant based minerals, I used to wake up four and five times a night. So I really had lots of interrupted sleep. So, um, you know, my story is about 10 years ago, I was in a corporate career, really high pressure job. Um, and I had a lot of health issues. I had. flatlined adrenals.

I had bad inflammation in my gut. I had really bad inflammation in my mouth as well with receding gums and deep pockets in my in my gums and bone loss in my teeth. I had recurring sinus infections, could not, you know, get them to stop coming. You know, every six to eight weeks, I would get another. Um, and I had, of course, really bad headaches.

I had struggles with my blood sugar, um, and, and low thyroid. So, So, so many chronic,  um, issues, which at a certain point just hit me so hard. I had to quit my corporate career altogether  and, uh, must've been a scary period of time. Like what am I doing? Like, it was got to get this under control. Yeah. And having been somebody who is really a high performer.

Yeah. Um, kind of a racehorse to not be able to perform at my highest level was extremely scary. I was like, what am I going to do now? Yeah, right about that time, I was introduced to plant based minerals and I started taking them. Yeah. And what happened was after about two months, I went to my dentist and she looked in my mouth and she was like, wow.

What's different? The pH in your mouth has totally changed. The tissues look pink and healthy instead of red and inflamed. You had very little sensitivity when your teeth were cleaned. What's changed? And I was like, you know, I don't know. I think maybe it's these minerals.

Wow. Yeah. You're kidding. So it was just such a visible shift.

It was like an obvious shift that the doctor noticed. So then four months in, I went to my naturopath and I'd been working with the same naturopath for almost two years, trying to get some activity in my adrenals that were either flatline or below flatline. And we had done the adrenal test. and she was reviewing the results and she was, she was like, Oh my gosh, this is fantastic.

And she showed me the report. It was my adrenal, um, function was one third of the way up the chart with this natural sawtooth pattern, which is really important for adrenal function. She's like, what are you doing? You know? And I said, I, you know, I think it might be these minerals. So then I went through one season and another and I didn't get my sinus infections.

really good, having a lot of energy, getting back to what I knew as my, you know, highly functioning self. Me.  And as a result, I just started doing all this research, like how could these little cups of liquid do what Nothing, you know, going to all these different doctors and, you know, gut doctors and thyroid docs and, you know, naturopaths and, and acupuncturists and, uh, you know, craniosacral and energy workers and you name it, trying to feel better.

And I was never able to feel better.

Oh my God. But the minerals made the difference.

Wow. Okay. So the minerals made the difference. And what brought you from I'm just going to be a devout user of minerals, too. I'm going to create a whole line to make a difference for the world.

Well, what happened was, so the guy who introduced me to minerals and the plant based minerals is now my business partner.

OK, got it. I kept going to him going, I feel better. And then I told him about the doctor's results. And and and he was like, he gave me a couple of links to two things online that I could read about these two things called humic and fulvic. And I started reading them. reading about it. And I was, I was so amazed by what I learned.

And I kept having all these aha moments. And I kept coming to him and going,  people need to know this. Like no one's talking about minerals. I've tried so many things and this has made such a difference. I need to find a way to bring this to the world. And then he had a small business selling essential oils.

I told him, forget the essential oils. I'll go into business with you. Let's Let's get these minerals out to the world.

Oh my gosh, okay So you had all these amazing transformations and if anyone's listening, you know, of course sleep is a skill podcast They want to know what happened with your sleep. So tell us more So that's the that is the big thing that shifted for me is for the first time in my life I would go to sleep at night and I would sleep maybe wake up once to go, you know to Take a pee.

Yeah, right. But the rest, I have to sleep through the night. And, and of course, the beautiful thing about all these different changes is that they, they pile on to in the same way that negative symptoms, um, pile on and a certain point you experience breakdown, the positive changes all started to add up to, yes, to start feeling really, really good.

And I really wanted to know why. Right. Like, how could minerals make such a difference in my sleep? I never would tie my insomnia, my lifelong insomnia, I might have tied it to, you know, trauma or stress or, you know, things, but I wouldn't have tied it to mineral replenishment.

Sure. Okay. Yeah. So I wonder if you can help us bridge that gap because A lot of people I'm sure that are listening have tried a lot of things and similar to what you were saying and they might be exploring kind of more therapies, supplements, gadgets, lots of things, but minerals might be new.

So if you can help us understand, like, what is that connection? Yeah,  well, here's how I like to frame it. So if you think about your body. Mm hmm. Your entire body is made of cells. Yeah. Okay. Every single part of your body is made of cells and inside your cells. You have these energy generating units that lots of people have heard of called the mitochondria.

Yes. Now here's the thing. The mitochondria generate almost all of the energy in your body and it's a lot of energy that needs to be generated on a regular basis. Especially when you sleep, actually, for all of the autonomic processes and the clearing and cleaning that happens when you're sleeping. Okay?

So, So the thing that fuels a mitochondria, there are two things, amino acids, which your body makes a lot of. You do have to bring some in from the outside, but your body makes a lot of amino acids. The other thing is minerals.  So all minerals have to come in from the outside. Now the problem is that we are all mineral deficient.

I don't care if you eat really, really organic grass. food. If you eat from your backyard organic garden, you cannot today. The sad fact is that our, our food is no longer, it no longer has the nutrient density that it did when our grandfathers were alive to get the same nutrition from an apple that your grandfather ate today.

You'd have to eat like six or seven. Yes. So bear with me here. Okay. So what we're talking about is energy production in the body. And when your body doesn't have enough minerals, of which there are like  17 to 22 minerals your body needs.  What happens is it cannot generate enough energy. And then it has to pick and choose.

And it says, okay, well, hair. We don't really need hair, so we'll let go of that. And people start losing their hair. skin starts looking dull, or they start having some inflammation in their gut that can't get cleared, or their wounds don't heal as quickly, or they start having a sinus infection that continues and they, their body's never able to completely get over it, or their teeth and their bones start getting more porous and not being able to sustain the, the strength and power that they need.

Okay. Sure. So,  if you think about the 37 to 150 Trillion cells that you have in your body and what scientists that I talked to, they say that most people have only about 40 percent of the minerals in their body that they need. So it's like your body can only generate 40 percent of the energy that it needs.

Wow. So it's like taking a light and dimming it down to 40 percent and then trying to do your life. Right. Sure. So, and here's the, how do you feel like when you're really hungry?  Yeah. Exactly. And what do you crave when you're hungry? The quick energy. Sugar and salt. Exactly. Right? Yes. And so that's what people are experiencing.

They're experiencing 37 to, well, 40, actually 60 percent of their cells don't have what they need and are hangry. And what does that do to a nervous system? It jacks it up. Yes. So no wonder you can't sleep,  you see? Exactly. So as you begin to replenish your minerals  build them up, not only in your bloodstream, but in your tissues, which is in your cells.

You're able to, your whole nervous system, which is all driven by electrical activity, which is fueled by minerals, the electrical capacity of each of those minerals and electrolytes. Okay. Yeah. It's, it's all connected. This ecosystem is all connected. electrical. Wow. So, so when you replenish minerals, the nervous system can relax  and start to go into responsive mode rather than that, you know, that adrenaline, you know, freak out mode.

And then you're able to actually Your body's able to rest  and how long for you because I love your example for yourself. And like, do you have the data that your nervous system and many different capacities was like, help? How long did that take that process for you to start to kind of feel?  But particularly with the sleep piece of it.

Yeah, you know, and I what I always tell people because I never want to make any claims about this, but what I want people to understand is everyone's body is different. Yeah. Okay. If you're a performance athlete and you're hitting your system all really hard every day, you're probably going to feel a difference pretty quickly.

Sure. If you're somebody who has a sleep problem, Sedentary office job. Yeah. And you're not very connected to your body and you just kind of eat candy in the afternoon to get that extra hit. Yeah. You might not feel a difference, but you might find that you've, it's suddenly five o'clock and you haven't gone for the candy bar.

Ah.  You see? And that might happen after a week or two weeks, you see?  So it's cumulative. Yeah. And this is one of the important things that I. kind of preach and not just preach, but try to educate people about minerals is that minerals are ecosystem tools and your body is an ecosystem. So rather than trying to have a big hit by having the cup of coffee or having the candy bar, you can actually use ecosystem tools, which actually build sustainability for the whole system.

Wow. Okay.

So people are maybe like, okay, so I just get some mineral, can I just like buy any old minerals? What is the difference in, you know, the passion for you to make sure you're getting high quality and getting this out to people? Maybe help us break down to like why we shouldn't just buy on Amazon minerals.

Well, so this is the other thing I really like to empower people with is. The way your body works, the way all nutrients get into your system, is they go into your mouth, and they have to be digested, they start, you start chewing, and then they have to go down your throat and your stomach, and they get broken down in your stomach, and then they go into your GI tract, and they get further broken down by digestive enzymes, etc.

Sure. And they have to be broken down. all the way to their  ionic chemical component parts before they can be absorbed through the lining of your gut into your bloodstream. Now the problem with most mineral supplements is that they're made from rocks, shells, and bones. Okay. How well do you think your human digestive tract breaks those down?

Even when they're in powdered form or even in a liquid form. They don't actually break down to that chemical component size very well. So only about 10 to 12 percent gets, is digested to the point where it's ready for absorption. Now we know that so many people have issues with their, with SIBO or IBS or problems with digestive enzymes or even trouble with enough, um,  Stomach acid, right?

Right. So this whole digestive process because of all our environmental toxins that we're encountering is quite minimized for lots of people. So that further degrades that below that. Sure. So, but let's say 10 to 12 percent of those rocks, shells, and bones gets absorbed into your bloodstream. Now here's the thing.

Remember the mitochondria are inside the cells. Mmm. So the minerals don't do much good for you in your bloodstream, they have to get into the cells. Now, here's the challenge that we all have. It's, it's about what we call cell wall permeability. Yes. Okay. So, which is impacted by eating, um, you know, bad fats, these, all these, the seed oils that get into, linings of your cells.

There's all sorts of other things that impair the function of your cell linings. Sure. So they say only five to 7%. of that 10 to 12 percent actually ends up getting into your cells. So,  the difference between using, so that's the first problem, with trying to supplement using, you know, going to the health food store and going to the pill aisle.

Alright. You know, it's the pill for every ill symptom. Ill, yeah. Right? And you're going to buy magnesium, you're going to buy potassium, you're going to buy calcium, maybe you're going to buy an electrolyte. Powder. Maybe you're going to buy chromium because you've got blood sugar things and you're going to buy iodine because maybe you have a thyroid problem and you're going to buy selenium because somebody said it's good and you know, and then you're going to find out, figure out when to take them, how to take them with food, but without food, all of this complexity.

Now here's the thing. Okay. There is absolutely no way that you or any incredibly smart and talented practitioner is going to be able to tell you how much and what minerals that your body needs  because your ecosystem, ecosystem, your body is so incredibly complex.  But what's the, the amazing thing is it's also incredibly wise.

Okay. It has the capacity to know what it needs, when it needs it, how it needs it, and where it needs it, if you provide the basic fundamental building blocks.

Got it. Okay. Well, that's amazing. And so we can actually trust our bodies to kind of sort that out. Can you have too many minerals? Can you OD on minerals?

Absolutely, you can. And a lot of people around the pandemic, um, the people took a lot of zinc because, you know, it up levels your immune system, but then people are really high in zinc and that can have other negative impacts. So this is what I want to tell people. It's so important to not think about minerals as single minerals that you're going to take. Okay. It's not really useful. Okay. If you, let's say you're around people and they have a lot of, there's a lot of people who are sick around you. You might want to take zinc for a week. Yeah. Right. To give your system a little leg up, but it's not something you'd want to do every day all the time.

Okay. Because minerals work in balanced pairs and triumvirates and quads and  they work in balance. So There's a completely different paradigm shift about how to think about mineral replenishment in the body, and I specifically use the word replenishment rather than supplementation.

Yeah, very different.

I like that.

Because the the difference is when you supplement, you're just adding stuff in. Most of it just goes through and ends up in your urine.  When you replenish, you're actually thinking about how those replenishment  systems work in your body and you're providing tools and the fuel that can actually be completely absorbed and assimilated and end up In your cell, where the mitochondria can use it.

Wow, okay. So, you said we need to figure out like a whole balanced kind of panel, if you will, of minerals. Now, if someone's listening and they're like, Okay, I'm tired. I just, maybe this mineral thing can help me. I know you have like a whole different line. Yeah.  By the way, like I use Beam every single day and I'm excited to be learning more too.

And we only talk about things that we really feel confident can make a difference for people with their sleep. So not meaning to land as an infomercial or anything, but I think it's important for us to kind of delve into like, what does this look like? Because I've actually gotten a lot of questions from people of like, well, if I want it for my sleep, like, do I take it at night?

What about my electrolytes? Can I be O. D. ing on these things? And I know I mentioned this, but also in the electrolyte topic. Um, so if you can help guide like which ones for different things.

Yeah.  So we're talking about people who have sleep issues. Okay. And let's just touch on the issue of people using magnesium for sleep.

Sure. It's really important because lots of women have been told use magnesium for sleep and it will make you sleep. The reason that one of the reasons that it makes you sleep is because it has a certain bioactivity.  bioactive capacity in the body that makes you get tired. Okay, the problem with it is that magnesium  has a relationship with calcium and phosphorus.

And when you put a concentration of magnesium in your system into your gut microbiome, your biome says, I've got a concentration of magnesium and now I need to balance it with calcium and phosphorous.  That's where it gets that from your bones and teeth. Oh, great. Okay. So if you once in a while want to make sure you sleep and you're going to make use magnesium once in a while, I actually will never do it, but I understand if you really have that issue.

Sure. But I would not, if you're a woman, and bone health is so important to women because of our hormones, um, I would not do it. Especially women who are impairing menopause and menopause.  It is not a good thing to do on a regular basis. Let me give a little bit of explain explanation. Yeah, that'd be great.

What we know about our gut microbiome is like a forest. Okay, there's lots of fungi and microorganisms and beneficial bacteria and they and all of these all of this microflora works together in a in hopefully a beneficial way to support digestion and ultimately the health of your gut lining and absorption of nutrients into your system.

Okay, okay.  What now, if you think of a forest, and it's got all the right nutrients, it's got enough water, and it's got clean air. It's, it's just thriving. Now take a wheelbarrow of magnesium and throw it somewhere on that floor of that forest.  Just imagine, you know that the plants in that area, the microflora in that area are not going to thrive.

And in fact, that system is going to go, I've got a concentration, I need to get rid of this. I need to eliminate this. So here you are trying to uptake minerals into your body and your body has now gone into an elimination process. Which is why some women also use magnesium for elimination if they tend towards constipation.

But again, what you're doing is you're creating this constant rocker back and forth. And remember, your body is an ecosystem and ecosystems thrive on balance.  So what you want to do is use ecosystem tools. And that's what, that's what beam products are. They're plant based humic and fulvic mineral complexes.

These amazing natural substances, which is what your body already recognizes and utilizes them. Sure. And all the plants outside our window, all the trees, whether it's a tiny pea shoot or a huge, uh, cedar tree, they are all using humic and fulvic for mineral replenishment into their systems. Okay. So  the cool thing about humic and fulvic is they provide the full spectrum of minerals your body needs  in all the right ratios.

It's already the same ratios that your body needs and utilizes. So rather than trying to figure out what my body needs, when it needs it, how it needs it.  I just take  a full spectrum mineral replenishment tool that provides it all and then lets my body work it out. Fantastic. Okay. So more of that, it's a wide sweeping effect versus just the dumping of magnesium or in that case.

Today I want to talk to you about something that often flies under the radar, but is absolutely crucial for great sleep. Minerals. Now you've heard me talk about circadian rhythms, light exposure, temperature control, and more, but let's dive into the foundational elements that fuel our body's ability to sleep deeply and restoratively.

Specifically, minerals. Our modern lifestyle, with its processed foods and environmental stressors, can leave us depleted of essential minerals. This depletion can mess with our sleep quality, leading to issues like restless legs, poor sleep initiation, and waking up in the middle of the night. Enter beam minerals.

Beam minerals are designed to replenish your body's essential. essential mineral levels, providing the building blocks your body needs for optimal health. And this includes better sleep. What I love about beam is that they use a hundred percent bioavailable liquid minerals, which means your body can actually absorb and utilize them instantly without any fillers or additives.

Magnesium, for example, is known as nature's relaxant, helping to calm the nervous system, support muscle relaxation. And some argue by extension can promote deep restful sleep. Beam's magnesium is sourced in a way that ensures maximum absorption and effectiveness, making it a key part of my sleep routine.

But Beam doesn't stop there. They've created a comprehensive blend that includes other vital minerals like potassium, calcium, and trace minerals that work synergistically to support your overall health. And of course your sleep, the result, you wake up feeling more refreshed, more balanced. And ready to take on the day.

So if you've been struggling with sleep and feel like you've tried everything, it might be time to look at what's happening on a cellular level. B minerals can help fill in those gaps and give your body the support it needs for truly restorative sleep. So head on over to B mineral spelled B E A M today and use the code sleep as a skill, all one word at checkout to get a special discount on your order, your body and your sleep will thank you.

If you've tuned into the show or followed any of our content here at Sleep is a Skill, you may have heard that everyone that we work with wears the Oura Ring. And as a result, we have amassed a very large database of Oura Ring users and get to see what really moves the needle for people when it comes to their sleep measurably.

Now, because we have so much data around sleep optimization, many ask what they can do to improve their sleep quality. And for years, my answer has been that one of the few things I've seen makes such an overnight difference is the use of a quality cooling mattress topper. Not just any ordinary topper that claims to be cooling with like gels or what have you, but an actual cooling topper that uses water and can be dynamically adjusted to suit your unique needs and preferences.

Now, this is why I am so excited to announce that 8 Sleep is now an official sponsor of the podcast. I have tested various cooling mattress toppers and fan systems over the years, and none of them have come close to the innovative and customizable, seamless nature of the 8Sleep system. Not only does it have an autopilot feature to intelligently adjust the temperature of the topper to work in alignment with your body's needs, but it also has additional features that truly set it apart.

So, with Eight Sleep, you can enjoy advanced sleep tracking, allowing you to monitor key metrics like heart rate, heart rate variability, and sleep stages, all integrated seamlessly into the app. It also has a dual zone temperature control, which means that you and your partner can each set your own ideal sleep temperature.

Plus the gentle rise wake up technology uses temperature and vibration to wake you up gently and naturally avoiding the jarring sound of an alarm, but it doesn't stop there. There's more, more, more. So the system even includes a smart alarm feature that wakes you up during your lightest. sleep phase. I know a lot of people have asked me about this, and this is included in here within a customizable time window, ensuring you wake up feeling refreshed and ready to start your day.

And for those of you who struggle with snoring, Eight Sleep has an anti snore feature that adjusts your sleep environment in real time to help reduce snoring and improve overall sleep quality. So this is truly a game changer for anyone serious about optimizing their sleep. So if you're ready to take your sleep to the next level, head on over to eight sleep and use the code sleep as a skill, all one word at checkout for a discount.

So for individuals dealing with sleep, then should they be thinking of this as like an all day beneficial effect of parasympathetic response state? So they're taking this maybe in the morning and to affect how they're feeling by day. And, or into the evening, what does that all look like? So they're really easy to take.

Okay. Okay. First of all, and you can, we have, um, I always encourage people to have a relationship with their body. Okay. So, um, what I consider these. I consider these tools. Okay. So the green bottle or electrolytes is a fulvic supplement. Now what fulvic does, it's a very, very small molecule. It's much smaller than a cell.

And it easily absorbs into your system because of its component size. Okay. And then it's what is called a flavonoid. And a flavonoid is an intercellular transporter. Okay. Now fulvic in particular carries nutrients into the cell. And then it changes its polarity. It's the only molecule on earth that can do this.

And like if you had like metal connected to a magnet and you release the magnet, those things fall off inside the cell. Okay. Those nutrients fall off and now they're available for  energy generation by the mitochondria. So it literally is a delivery system for the mineral content.

Got it. Okay. Very interesting.

And is there a difference between the liquid and the capsule spray?

Well, so this one is, that's the fulvic. It's the intercellular  transporter. Okay. The humic is a full system detoxification agent. It also carries a full spectrum of minerals. Uh, that become available in your system. But it's main job, the way I like to describe it, it's like a Velcro ball, okay?

And one of the big things that happens when you sleep, is that you do a, your body does a lot of cleaning, clearing, detoxification, particularly in your brain, which has this respiration process, okay? One of the beautiful things is both of these cross the blood brain barrier. So they really support the clearing of toxins and, and um, kind of, detritus from biosynthesis processes that happen in your brain, which is really important for clearing brain fog and all of that cognitive, all of those cognitive processes.

Do we want to be mindful if, so we have a number of people that might be on different types of like molds, binder protocols. Do we want to just kind of do our due diligence and making sure that there's not kind of issues taking all those? Well, first of all, I'm going to let people know I have autoimmune and I also have, um, have had autoimmune.

And I'm. I'm trying to stop saying that I have it. Ah, I love that. Yes, I have had it in my past. And I also have had a really intense mold exposure in my life and dealt with, I mean, those sinus infections that I had were due to a  mold exposure. So I totally understand the, the process is to try and get healthy after that.

Yeah. Um, these two tools work. Absolutely the game changer for me in getting healthy. Okay, so if you're doing mold detox protocols, let's just talk about the mold first. Sure. You might be using binders and different tools to, um, remove the, the, um, mold toxins. Okay. Which I'm having, I can't think of what those are.

Yeah, right. No, I feel you. I'm having a mind, one of those minds. Yes, totally. Um,  so the thing about humic.  It is one of the most, um, effective binders and it gathers biowaste, toxins, heavy metals, free radicals, senescent cells, endotoxins, it, it gathers glyphosate. And because the molecule itself is one of the strongest electrolyte molecules and most effective binders, it's well known for lowering glyphosate toxicity.

It's extremely effective.

We don't want that for sleep, so to have something to support that. Great. Okay.

Well, you should know that glyphosate toxicity is one of the huge Um, impacts on sleep issues. Totally. Because, yeah, because of me. 'cause it interact, interferes with melatonin production, so Yes, a hundred percent.

Yeah. So this is re and I, I actually believe from now that I've done all this research over these last 10 years that.  One of the things, I'm sure I was, had glyphosate toxicity. Okay.

Okay. You start to piece all this stuff together. You're like, okay, this is the tapestry of why toxicity and I had glyphosate toxicity.

And these are the tools that started really lowering that. Ah, amazing. Now. So, in, in using them, because the electrolyzed, the fulvic supplement, which is the intercellular transporter enhancing energy production in the body, I take that in the morning because I'm going to be eating food. I want that food, the nutrients from that food I'm eating throughout the day to get into my cells.

I want that transport happening. At night, before I go to bed, I take my, my, um, Microboost, which is the humic supplement. I put it in a glass of water, eight, eight ounces, and I drink it over the last maybe half an hour before I'm going to bed. Okay. That's helpful. Now I've given my body all the tools it needs to support that, that detoxification  process.

Now, truly the beautiful thing about these is they don't just last a few hours. They actually build up in your system over time because these are ionic minerals, which means they're already at their component size ready for absorption.  stay in suspension inside this liquid system inside your skin. It's all liquid.

Yes, they stay in suspension quite well. And the minerals in them, they actually, you're able to build your mineral stores over time. Whereas if you take a magnesium pill or a, um, potassium or calcium pill, you'll get a little bit of it, but most of it just washes through.  So it's hard to build up your stores over time using those kinds of tools.

Okay. Wow. What a difference. So it's really easy. You just take a half cap of each, a half cap in the morning. You can just shoot this one. No problem here. This one you want to take with water. Now, if you have autoimmune or you have mold or you have had long COVID or Lyme's disease in particular, these four make systems, very, very sensitive. Yes. Um, and because I have those, I actually never had any kind of reaction, detox reaction to micro boost. I could just take a whole cap full, shoot it. No problem. But since I had lung covid in particular, my system is very sensitive. So if I drink it without the water, I will get a little rash.

It takes a few days, but I will or a pimple or something. And really, this is just the body saying, Yeah, I can get rid of it. whatever toxins I've encountered, and I'm going to do it a little more quickly.

Oh, okay. And I appreciate you sharing that's like part of your evening routine. And then what about the capsules too?

So the capsules are, they are truly the, the base material that we use to produce our liquid. It's called humate. It's a black crystalline substance. It's incredibly mineral rich. It's like taking both of these. Okay. Okay. We really recommend you only use it for travel, or if you are an intensely high performing athlete, then you would use it.

I see. It's really, and for anybody who is sensitive. Yeah. I definitely don't recommend starting using the capsules because they're very high. Okay. concentrated there, you know, they're going to have a strong effect in your body. But once you got used to using these on a regular basis and you went on a trip to Europe or whatever, you could easily just take a capsule, one capsule a day.

Okay. That's great.

And then the sprays too. So these sprays are amazing. This is our Insta Lite spray. And so remember when I talked about how small the fulvic molecule is? It's so much smaller than a cell. So you can literally spray it on from the outside. So imagine needing an electrolyte replenishment, okay?

Yes. And rather than having to take a pill or a drink or drink those salt based electrolytes, don't get me started about those. Oh,

I kind of want you to get started for a second, just only because there's so many people that are taking those and thinking they're going to help with the skin. sleep. So I'm so curious your take on it.

Yeah. So let's, let's talk about it. But all you do is spray it and breathe it in.

I've just given myself an immediate, like within three to five seconds, I can feel it because I do it all the time. I recognize the experience  like, imagine just a little wave of like,  ah,  I need to do more of that. Maybe I need to set it by my computer or something.

This is also incredibly useful for women with menstrual cramps. You just spray it on, it will remove the cramps really, really quickly. If you take these internally, most women will stop having any PMS or cramping. Just so you know. Wow, incredible. And then the other one, this Happy Light.  This has bergamot in it, which is an essential oil.

So most people who, um, they're olfactory, I mean, everyone, they're olfactory system, the sniffers are connected to the brainstem,  which is where the trigger of neurotransmitters is or where neurotransmitter release is triggered.  So you just spray this and you breathe it in. And you know, I'm just going to get started  if you want to smell it.

Yeah, please.  And about five to six seconds, it will trigger the release of endorphins in your body. Yeah. If you're a person who deals with anxiety,  panic or depression, this is incredibly helpful. What it does is it breaks the cycle of the neurotransmitters of that heavy kind of anxiety. Yeah. Yeah. Um, I use it all the time, um, and people, this is, this is actually our, after our ingestible, you know, electrolytes and microwaves, this is our third favorite product.

Really? Oh, that's great. I didn't realize that. People love Happy Lights. I mean, there's so much, so many people dealing with anxiety. Totally. And panic and just. That feeling, you know, and being able to break the cycle is, and for teenagers, it's a game changer.

Oh, totally. And I mean, for so many, especially dealing with insomnia, of course, we have different people tuning in for different reasons, sleep disorders or other issues, but certainly insomnia being a big one.

And as we know, anxiety and depression and all these things can go hand in hand for that. So to have some tools there is amazing. And I'm curious if you can just share a little bit about the electrolyte piece, just because we see so many people getting. you know, certain, I don't want to name brand names, but you know, spending a lot of money on different types of electrolyte sources.

And I think before we hit record, you were sharing that we have some concerns of what that could do for sleep or otherwise.

Yeah. So here's the first thing I want people to understand. Salt based electrolytes were designed for emergency situations. They were designed for soldiers on the battlefield who were about to pass out because they were in the middle of a battle.

Yeah, no, okay. And I need a quick pick me up because they were about to crash. Sure. Okay,  your, your digestive tract is a freshwater system. It is not a saltwater system. You get plenty of sodium. Yeah, in the foods you eat, unless you try to eat Just try to go on a really low salt diet. It's very hard because there's so much salt in the foods we eat.

So,  what I am trying to help people understand is when you take magnesium, potassium, sodium, and what else is in your, what else is in your, uh, salt based electrolyte, do you use one? Um, I've been playing with a bunch

of different ones because we get sent a ton of them. So you get to try them.

Yeah. Yeah. And so they usually have four or five.

Totally. Yeah.  What you're doing again is you're creating imbalance in your gut microflora. So I always ask people this who are using. electrolytes. Do you feel hydrated? Depends. Yeah. Do you feel replenished?

Right. And often you're wanting to go back for more, right? You see, that's exactly what happens is, and then the more you take, you know, what happens is your body actually starts, um, it's a diuretic.

It actually wants your body says, I've got too much. I'm going to lose. Now you start urinating more. I talked to, um, professional athletes about this all the time and they come to me and I'm like, Oh, and I explained this to them. They're like, you're right. I pee all the time. Yeah. I'm constantly peeing, and I'm feeling dehydrated.

I'm not feeling replenished, and I have, I'm struggling with my energy, and they're, they're in these training cycles. I said, give me one month. Just use electrolyze for your, for your electrolyte replenishment. Yeah. Suddenly they're, and the other challenge that they have is they've got lots of problems with their gut.

Yes. Like real discomfort in their gut.

Mm hmm. And, and all that goes away. Mm.

And then they start feeling hydrated because think about that fulvic again. The fulvic is also carrying H2O into your cells. Right. When you drink water, you know, people who drink, like they say, I'm going to drink a gallon of water every day.

I'm like, no, right? Don't drink a gallon of water every day. You're flushing your system. You're actually flushing minerals out of your system. You see? So instead, what you want to use is a replenishment tool that's going to give you all those minerals, including the macros, which we call the electrolytes in the proper ratios.

Like, rather than just magnesium, it's going to be magnesium with phosphorus and potassium and calcium, you see, in the proper ratios, which, and the delivery system for those minerals into your cells. So, you know, the thing is, you get all those mineral, all the, the salt based electrolytes, they're very, they're pretty bioavailable in terms of digestion and absorption,  depending on the health of your gut lining, okay?

But getting those minerals into your, bloodstream doesn't work, which is why I tell people if you're going to get tested for your mineral levels, Yeah. your bloodstream is not going to tell you.  What how you're doing? Oh, yeah, actually do either a hair tissue mineral analysis or the best one is something called oligoscan and oligoscan uses spectrophotometry and it shines a light into your tissues and it returns your data on all of your beneficial minerals your heavy metals your electrolytes and and your vitamin levels will also tell you kind of your free radical load or, or oxidative stress levels in your body.

It's extremely, um, useful test.

Oh, and how can people get that? I'll give you a link you can put in. Please. Yeah.

Okay. It'll take them to a place where they can find a practitioner in their area, in their area. Okay, great. And is that something that you routinely do to, you know, so you,

so the thing about minerals is minerals change in your body on a slow basis. Okay. Because you're trying to, you need to, again, get them into your tissues. So,  um, I always say you, you really wouldn't want to test your minerals  more often than every nine months. It's like that kind of timeframe. So that's why you say, well, how often, how soon will people feel a difference?

I've had people call me in two weeks and go, Oh my gosh, this is amazing. You know, I'm finally sleeping through the night. You know, And then I've had other people who it took three months and they're like, I don't really feel a difference. I said, okay, then stop taking them as soon as they stopped taking them within a week or 10 days.

They're like, Oh, it was the minerals, the minerals. Wow. That's so interesting. Okay. And do you recommend people refrigerate these or they do not need to be refrigerated? Okay. I have like a three because I haven't been doing that. So I was like, Oh no,

we don't recommend drinking from the bottle. That's the only thing.

That's the big one. And you got those shot glasses for people. Yes.  Makes it easy. Okay. Very cool. Okay. I know this is a huge topic around minerals and sleep. Is there anything we left out that you want to touch on before we hear about how you're managing your own sleep? I don't think so.

Okay. I think we did a good job, right?

I do too.  We covered a lot of ground. And so every person that's come on the podcast, we asked them four questions around how they're managing their own sleep. And it's always really fascinating. So the first question, especially I'm interested in for you, given what you dealt with with your sleep and where you're at now, it's like amazing.

So what is your nightly sleep routine looking like right now? I know you shared about the like 30 minutes before bed. Is that what you said? Yeah. Okay. But um, yeah. What else might we see for your evening?

Well, I, I have. quite the sleep routines because I've had insomnia all my, you know, I did for so many years and, you know, I had trauma growing up and, you know, I've had different things that affected, definitely affected sleep for me.

And I'm also extremely sensitive to EMFs and yes, and all of that. So, you know, I used to sleep with my phone by my bed and now I, you know, put it in. I'm sorry to bring you downtown and next time we do this, we'll be in a nice EMF low zone. It's going to be great. I'm like. craving it. Well, and I always use my EMF protection tools on the body.

So I walk around with those. I use a computer pillow. Yeah. So a particular pillow that you can sit on. So when you're working at the computer, it grounds things out. Um, and then when I'm going, you know, kind of as the evening goes on, I don't, I don't like to have any screens. I like to read an actual book.

So vintage, so novel,  which I really love. And the main thing is for me to get my phone out of the general area with Get it on airplane mode, the, I mean, I actually have, you know, the, the aura ring, but I turn it on airplane mode at night because I just still the Bluetooth, you know, and plus it has lights and, you know, I used to wear it, I, uh, eye cover for a long time.

Um, and that did help for, but I realized that I also wanted to wake up in the morning and have the natural sleep, uh, light happen. So I, I don't wear that anymore. Okay, got it. I sleep really well now. I like the coolest thing for me is that through the process of learning meditation, I travel a lot. And it used to be so hard to go to a hotel or wherever I was going to be sleeping now and feel comfortable and actually go to sleep.

Now I literally I mean, I was in Las Vegas of all people. And I slept like a baby. I was like, this is amazing.

Oh, what a blessing. No, yes. Yeah, because and certainly travel for many people have dealt with insomnia can just be very angsty and you know what's going to happen

and I'm so sensitive to like, I only sleep in cotton.

So a lot of hotels have like polyester sheets. So I used to bring my own sheets literally and put them on the bed because I couldn't like I'm staying in an Airbnb right now that has terrible sheets. Yeah. And yet you're really had to remove everything. I think cotton. Oh my God. I don't blame you. Okay. So that's your nightly sleep routine right now.

And then your morning sleep routine with the idea that how we start our day can impact our sleep.

Yeah. You know, I have a very particular wake up routine. So when I wake up, I have a, I do something, it's called the Ho'oponopono. And it's a, it's a Hawaiian  practice, Hawaiian tradition. Someone else mentioned this and now I've got to go back because now I'm blanking on who it was.

Yeah. Okay. Share more. Yeah. And, and, uh, it's, it's a practice in the morning where I, I basically, It's like getting in touch with my inner child is really what it's called, the unhappily. And this practice is one of where I just have a little talk with myself and I talk about the day. Oh, that's the other thing I do before I go to bed is I, I look at the day the next day because I know in the morning I'm going to be talking to my little child and telling her what the day is going to be like.

And then I ask her what she needs and what she wants. And, you know, is there something special? special that she wants to have happen today. So I do this really sweet little  process with myself. And then I get up and I, um, you know, do my teeth and all of that. And then I, I make my matcha, which is my new thing.

I love. That's my new thing too. Oh my gosh. I love matcha.

We just went to Japan, my husband and I got to have like. authentic matcha and the whole thing. But yeah, it's such a nice product. We actually got this matcha maker too. I'll just show you outside. Yeah, I will. Yeah, totally. Okay. So you've been doing that.

It's quite a thing to make matcha. It is. I think you might end up getting one of these things. Yeah. Okay. So you have your matcha.

Yeah. And then I, and then Um, so my business partner is also my partner in life and I would say almost every morning we sit down then he's usually up for a few hours before I get up and so I come out, I make my match and we sit down and we just sit.

And we see what's, what's up for us together in the day and, you know, what's showing up, how do we sleep or, or, you know, what's, what's up for us right now. And that has been the most healthy thing for us in terms of setting the right, you know, putting the right foot forward as the day, like, what are the things that are in the way where, you know.

And if there was any upset, we try to clear it and, you know, any of that.

Oh, I love that. What a beautiful morning routine. Yeah. And we're always looking out. We, we live in Grand Junction. We have this view out over the whole Grand Mesa, the whole valley. So we're always watching the sun come up and, and he, it's, it's just a really, really beautiful spot to sit.

That's so nice. Okay. So what a beautiful way to start your day. And then. What made me visually see your space like on your nightstand and your environment  on my nightstand. So I have  on my nightstand. I have lotion because my feet. I have something strange from cope long covid. It's called toes. Oh, wait, is it purple?

They get really red. Mine don't go away. They get really red and they get hot. Oh, great. Yep. Like a histamine thing? I don't know what it is, but ever since COVID, I've had it. And it happens in the middle of the night for some reason. And then I put lotion on and I go back to bed. I have my spray, my InstaLight spray by the bed.

Oh, nice. I gotta have that.  If I wake up in the night, I just spray it. I always spray it before I go to bed. This thing is, it's like, this is my go to for everything. Every, like, I don't travel without it.  I have it in my bag everywhere. Okay, I gotta up that. Because, just use it, and you know, it's great for if you work at the computer a lot, your eyes get tired, or you're driving a long way, you can spray it in your eyes as well.

Oh, amazing. What else do I have in my bedside? Um, I do take, um, hormone replacement. So I might put Gestro in there. Yep. I take that before bed. Um,  I do have like a little facial routine that I use. Young Goose, which I love. Yes. I have a little Young Goose facial. A couple of things that I do right before I go to bed with my, on my skin.

Yes.  What else? That's about it. I have my special pillow that I use. Oh, of course.

Well, you know, and we've seen that too. Often people that are, you know, no longer struggling with their sleep in the same way. We've seen a through line where often there's like a minimalism,  you know, like they're not needing to rely on those things.

And some of the people that are still kind of dealing with stuff with their sleep, they've got the gadgets on the nine million things. So, yeah. And

that's true. I used to have so many things. Right. I also used to have this thing, you know, where I would, I'd lie in bed kind of, I had to, I had to get so tired that I would just turn over and go to sleep.

Right. And now I can actually lie in and snuggle in before because I don't have that anxiety. Oh, beautiful. Blessing. Blessing. Yeah. Oh,

so incredible. Okay. And the last question would be, to date, what would you say has made the biggest change to your sleep game or said another way, biggest aha moment in managing your sleep?

Yeah. It's, it's really two things. It's the minerals. Yeah. It's absolutely the minerals. Right. First, they, they made the most difference for me. Change. I mean, I always was an insomniac until I took minerals. Wow. Okay. Like a terrible, terrible insomniac since I was a child. Wow. So they dramatically changed it.

And then the other is just the EMF protection stuff. Mmm. Yeah. Totally. Okay.

Are there things you're actively doing for EMF protection? Like, like clothing or what have you? Or just like setting up an environment where you don't have to worry about it as much?

Just, I have, I mean, I've been wanting to get one of those things that actually protects my whole room or my home, but I don't have one of those yet.

Yeah. Um, but I just wear. I just wear a  thing. Okay. Got it. And then I keep my phone in the other room. Yes. And I do all those things. All those things.

Beautiful. Now, for people listening, they're a mineral geek. They need to know more. How do they follow you? How do they check out about BEAM? What are all the steps to take?

Yeah, well, if you're just interested in looking at the products, you can go to beamminerals. com. This right here is called the advanced set. We recommend taking them both. Okay. Because that's the best way that you're going to get that synergistic effect between humic and fulvic in your body. Sure. So just www.beamminerals. com. It's like beam of light. Oh, right. Yeah, beamminerals. com. I was wondering about the origin of that name. Yeah. If they're interested in me and what I'm doing in the world, they can go to mineral geek.  So good. Andyou're on social under that name too, right? You can look on Instagram and all of that.

And also we're, you know, being minerals is also an Instagram.

Okay. Yeah. Ah, well I so thank you for taking the time, but also just vulnerably sharing about how it's been for you with your sleep. I just think that that can make such a difference. I know when I was dealing with stuff with my sleep, it was like you want to hear that there's examples of people making it through to their side are not destined for a whole lifetime of this.

So to. see your story is just really beautiful and also how got there and understand that. So it really means a lot. So thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much for having me. It's a pleasure to be able to be like a ray of hope for people. Yes, you are a ray of hope. Totally. And more too, because of course, we're just talking about, you know, insomnia and sleep.

But as you pointed to all these other things, that's Spider into the rest of your life as well. That's right. Yeah. Well, thank you so much. I so appreciate it. Thank you, Mollie.
