Welcome to the sleep as a skill podcast. My name is Mollie Eastman. I am the founder of sleep as a skill, a company that optimizes sleep through technology, accountability, and behavioral change as an ex sleep sufferer turned sleep course creator, I am on a mission to transform the way the world. thinks about sleep.

Each week I'll be interviewing world class experts ranging from researchers, doctors, innovators, and thought leaders to give actionable tips and strategies that you can implement to become a more skillful sleeper. Ultimately, I believe that living a circadian aligned lifestyle is going to be one of the biggest trends in wellness.

And I'm committed to keeping you up to date on all the things that you can do today to transform your circadian health. And by extension, allowing you to sleep and live better than ever before.

Welcome back to the sleep as a skill podcast. You know, I love diving into the science of sleep and today's episode is packed with insights on how PEMF and grounding can transform the way we rest, recover, and recharge. Our guest, Alyssa has a fascinating journey. She started as an aerospace engineer, but realized the human body was even more complex.

And on spiring then rockets after experiencing a major health crisis in her early twenties, she spent a decade researching how to truly heal from the inside out. Now, as a functional diagnostic nutrition practitioner, she helps people uncover the hidden factors affecting their well being together with her husband, Mike.

She co founded a line mat, a beautifully crafted PMF mat designed to sync our bodies with nature's rhythms. In this conversation, we unpack the science behind PMF therapy, infrared heat, and the power of grounding and how these tools can be game changers for sleep, stress, and overall health. If you've been feeling wired, but tired, struggling with stress, or just looking for ways to get deeper, more restorative sleep, this episode is for you.

So let's dive in. But I do want to add in that I have been using my align mat religiously morning, night. Sometimes throughout the day. I actually just did that midday today before a podcast, and I can tell you that it makes such a profound and noticeable difference. I've shared on this podcast that there are a few things that I really routinely use on a day to day basis, and most of the gadgets and gizmos end up Just collecting dust.

And that's why I'm really, really adamant on this podcast that most of the things you're going to do for your sleep are for free or environmental or behavioral nature. So head on over to my alignmat. com and use code sleep as a skill for 10 percent off, and let me know how it transforms your sleep. I'd love to hear your experience.  And welcome to the sleep is a skill podcast. This is one of the few podcasts where right beforehand, I actually was. using the item that we're going to be talking about right beforehand and not prompted or anything.

I just had a draw and a pull because it's one of my most used products that I have integrated into my daily routine, nightly routine. And before we hit record, I was just sharing about the old biohacking graveyard of all the gadgets, you know, I just moved and I'm looking at a whole collection of things that have been collecting dust.

And yet this product is one of the few things that I'm like obsessed with. And it's one of the first things that got moved in when we came to the new place. So we're going to talk all about that and more. So thank you so much for taking the time to be here. Thank you so much for having me. You got me, you know, smiling like a Cheshire cat over here, because this is my life's purpose is to help you be empowered to live a better, healthier, happier life.

So thank you so much for having me. Oh, thank you so much for taking the time and for the work that you do. It's so wild. It's been so serendipitous because I know we connected a couple years ago now, I guess at this point, right? Yeah. And I was just struck by this experience of you, of someone that genuinely is living what you're saying, like just wants to help people.

And I had known that of you, but I didn't really know of the product and what have you. And now that I've gotten to. have both of those worlds collide knowing you and your integrity and this piece of work like this artwork if you will or what have you it's really been life changing i don't say this about many things so there's only a few things that really i'm routinely every day using in my rotation and this has become one of them so i know i've been talking a lot about this thing you know maybe you can share a little bit about your background and how you came to create this elusive align mat So I definitely have to give credit to my husband who, Mike, who's my partner in this business as well.

And he is, uh, we consider like our blending of science and spirit. So he loves to introduce me because I was a former aerospace engineer and I found, uh, the human body to be far more fascinating than rockets. And it came from my own personal health journey. Um, I got really sick in my early twenties working, um, as a D.O. D. Hired to the Air Force and I didn't know what was going on. I was competing in fitness competitions at the time. I looked like the epitome of health and I was dying on the inside. So I had to go on my own decades long healing journey to figure out what was going on inside because Western Med didn't have answers for me.

I met him five years ago. He's a born medical intuitive and master healer, which was so outside of, uh, my mental scope because everything for me was like really linear and black and white. I'm like a plus B equals C. And he's like, wait, what about, what about feeling? Like, what about the thoughts that you think manifesting your reality?

I'm like. What does that mean?  So it was this whole journey of me unpacking all of these conditioned beliefs that I had to really allow for us to be on this journey of flow and manifestation. And, and without sounding really woo, our product has a ton of science to it. It's really this beautiful blending of science, uh, P.

M. F. Technology, infrared heat, all of the benefits that it provides to the body. And then this ancient wisdom of 30 of globally sourced crystals and that we put in this map and they all work synergistically together to help our nervous system shift from this really heightened state of stress that I think everybody's experiencing every single day.

just by existing from the frequencies that we're getting from, you know, five g and wifi to the demands of our job and our families and all of these things that are just overly stimulating. So this technology is a tool is helping us shift from that high state of stress that Sympathetic overdrive to that parasympathetic rest and digest.

Mm. Thank goodness. Yeah. I was shooting before we hit record that I've been going through this period of burnout and transition and what have you. And so, you know, lots of travel, lots of, you know, some stressors, all kinds of things. And this has been such a piece of the puzzle for me in kind of bookending my day, like starting the day on the align mat, ending the day on the align mat.

Especially when I was transitioning from still being in downtown Austin and the, uh, the high rise and now to more grounded and, you know, space. And so to have something like that in that journey, I think it's just really been like an unfair advantage that I want more people to know about. And of course relates to sleep.

So let's kind of begin with what is this thing and how can it support people? And certainly, of course, in the sleep conversation. Yeah. So essentially a lot of people have heard of grounding mats. It's like that on steroids. So three synergistic technologies in one that help reeducate the body on what it means to be in nature.

But you bring this tool into your home. Um, for, you know, a decade, we've been talking to our clients. So Mike's a practitioner as well. Like, Hey, it's free to go outside barefoot.  Just absorb the ion, the negative ions and electrons that are being freely given to you by the earth because the earth is is charged in this cavity from, we'll talk about the human residents later in our conversation, I'm sure.

But these things happen so quickly because our body has evolved over tens of thousands of years to absorb the frequencies the earth provides for us naturally. So. Fast forward to a line. You know, we work with a lot of clients all over the world. We're right now in the northern hemisphere in Canada. It's frozen tundra.

So I'm not going to ask one of my clients to go walk outside barefoot and get frostbite. So this is a tool that helps them, you know, not only in their home, but it's going to meet you wherever you're at in your day. So if you're in the middle of taking care of your kids and you're on the meetings and calls, like you said, just before we got on our call today, you were able to just hop on your mat, shift your state, and then come be present for our conversation.

So it really meets you where you're at without having to check out from your day. So you don't have to know how to meditate or do breath work. But there's amazing settings on it. Like you said, you use it in the morning for a higher frequency setting to help energize the cells. Each one of our cells is like a little battery.

So we're recharging those cellular batteries. And when the body's more in homeostasis. You can sleep better at night. We also have a sleep setting too, so I think you've experienced that. You know delta wave frequency that helps calm down the mental mind chatter, softens the body, helps with circulation, fluid flow, softening our muscles and fascia tissue, and actually helps you fall asleep more gracefully.

Yes, what's it made of tubes? You know, so many people have that we've had over have been like, what is this thing? It's heavy. And yes, can you explain what it is? That's what you mentioned. I'm like, it's you said it's like an art piece. And I'm like, that's also what we designed it to be because We know that if it looks beautiful, a not only do we were attracted to things with our eyes were so visually motivated.

Um, if you find it attractive and you are attracted to it, you're going to leave it out and use it more often. So it doesn't get benefit if it's under your bed or in a closet somewhere. So. 30 of globally sourced crystals is what makes it so heavy. I know that you have our stealth mat. So we have, you know, our flagship product, uh, two different models.

The Zen has seven different energy center aligning stones. People are familiar with chakras. So route to crown there's, you know, it looks like the colors of the rainbow. Um, and then your mat is all black tourmaline. And the power and benefit of black tourmaline when it's heated, it has piezoelectric properties that they know they've called as the energy stone.

So it's again really assisting the body and helping to recharge ourselves. And from the mineral properties alone, um, think about walking barefoot on the beach. I think everyone can kind of relates how that feels like your shoulders drop. You take longer strides, deeper breaths. It's just like the stress is literally melting off of you and you can just Put your toe on the mat, you know, you have to like lay down and, you know, do a full session.

You just allow the frequencies and the energy to go into your body. But that is what makes it so heavy is that it's literally 30 pounds of stones. Yes, exactly. Maybe a bit more too about because if people have possibly heard this whole idea of PEMF. They maybe heard, Oh, it can get really pricey. There's different models.

There's, you know, just maybe a confusing topic and questions on validity and the, the breakdown of all of that. So maybe you can guide us on this topic. Yeah. So a couple of different questions there. The validity is. It's going back over 100 years of published pub med research. NASA is responsible for doing the bulk body of the research in the sixties for their astronauts in that vacuum of space.

So when they are not in contact with the human resonance frequencies of the earth,  it is causing all sorts of degenerative conditions. Specifically, osteoporosis is what they were looking at. So bone loss, When they put Schumann resonance generators in their suits and then to like the space station, they were able to absorb these frequencies and literally the first studies of this were done actually underground in Germany back in the 50s at the Max Planck Institute, if anyone's, you know, nerdy scientist here and has heard of this, but they brought like 400 plus students underground.

So they're under the bedrock disconnected from the Schumann resonance. from the earth's surface and they were getting all sorts of different maladies like anxiety, depression, headaches, migraines, uh, you know, joint pains, different things. They put a human resonance generator and within minutes, all of these symptoms were resolved.

Wow. So this is how indelibly and intrinsically tied we are to the Earth's surface and why these frequencies are so important to us. We are the only mat on the market, so we're, we're leveraging low intensity frequencies. So, um, low intensity is defined between one and 100 Hertz and below 10 gauss, um, to give a framework gauss is the, the measure of magnetic intensity and MRI machine is at 10, 000 plus gauss.

Surface just walking barefoot is 0. 5 gauss. We're sitting at right around three gauss with our technology. So it's providing this experience that you can feel palpably in your body, but you're not like twitching or shaking. It's, it's all designed to help you relax and calm your nervous system without forcing your body.

This is why we call it a line. We're not forcing your body to make any changes for aligning with the fact of your nature and your body systems that know how to change itself. So talking more about P. E. M. F. We have eight cores in the map that are providing these pulse electromagnetic field frequencies.

This therapeutic tool is literally putting you your body when you're laying or sitting on the mat in a bubble of these frequencies. Your body's delivering it in its infinite wisdom where it needs to go. So if someone's got a shoulder issue, they might feel like tingling or pulsing sensations at that site.

A lot of people just feel super relaxed and calm. They're like, I never want to get up. And other people that are super overstimulated, they're like, I feel nothing. And then you turn around and they're, they fell asleep. Cause their body just needed the rest. Cause that's where we heal most effectively. Oh, absolutely.

Well, speaking of rest. I think you've mentioned you've seen reports of people pointing to improvements in their sleep. I wonder if you can share a little bit about that. Yeah. Um, I would love to possibly share actual tangible data. I don't know if you want to put it in the show notes or if you want to maybe share my screen, I can actually show you the sleep data that we're getting.

And what's really exciting is that I think we're one of the few, um, Companies in the market space with a resonant P. M. F. Device that's actually going to be doing clinical data. So this next month, we're actually going to allow that's going to look specifically at sleep data and H. R. V. And all things that help us reduce our stress.

So  share my screen really quick and show you our recent data with, uh, this is just. Anecdote I'm not anecdotal because this is actually. Objective data that  from a user on the right, we'll start here. Like, and one singular, um, session on the mat was 15 to 20 minutes. He laid on the mat. He didn't even own a mat.

We just did a demo session and he had done, um, he wears his aura ring pretty religiously and he tracks he's a biohacker as well. And he went from the 68 percent to a 90 percent optimal sleep, one 15 minute session. And why this is so profound is that. looking at the gentleman that slept overnight on his mat with the whoop scores, they're equally impressive, but it's just substantiating the fact that you don't have to sleep on a PEMF device to get the benefits in your body.

If we're energizing the cells and the results are lasting because again, if we're talking about every single cell in our body, like a little battery, yeah, when you have more energy, your body performs its tasks more optimally and what better way to heal than to sleep. So when your body has the energy that it needs, not only the energy to go throughout the day, but it also tells us when to calm and relax.

So this is the difference. Yeah, the loop overnight sleep from 65 percent 120 minute session from a 68 to a 90. percent optimal. So just even like the time, like both of these gentlemen, one used to work the one that was wearing the whoop. He was a police officer in the florida area. He worked nights for over a decade.

So he was on those midnight shifts. So his circadian rhythm was completely not only from just the circadian room, the fact that he stayed up all night, but also the trauma experience from the job. So he's been actively monitoring, measuring ways to help balance out his nervous system.  And then, um, the ordering, I mean, just it kind of blew his mind.

Cause he's like, I'm never in bed much longer than six or seven hours. And it's just like, you know, the fact that he slept almost 10 hours, really, you know, having this objective data to show people what their body's going to take, what it needs when it has the right. Set in setting to do so we don't realize how overstimulated we are not yet.

So more to the point of additional things that you've seen that help with stress relief and relaxation. And of course, those kind of spill over into sleep optimization. I know on your site you point to balancing neurotransmitters, reducing muscle tension, promoting better sleep patterns. So it can affect things on this neurotransmitter level as well.

And then the physiological muscle tension. Experience. Yeah. So this is where we talk about these three. I guess technologies. I even consider the stones of technology, this ancient wisdom that the earth has provided for us because nature didn't make a mistake. They all synergistically together to help. So how the stones work, their minerals, right?

So we think about drinking electrolyte minerals in our water every day or having salts, which is a combination of these minerals that help with, you know, fluid balance in our body and electrical connections. So it works similarly when we're just laying on these minerals as well. So transdermally, um, we have studies to prove when we go back to that concept of walking barefoot on a beach that it weren't being in halo therapy.

So thinking about it being an assault room, these things actually increase our serotonin levels and reduce free radical damage in the body. And these have been studied.  So we thought it was super important. Um, there are mats on the market that don't leverage stones. Um, but we love the concept of stacking.

Uh, we want to optimize the body as quickly as possible because as practitioners, we've seen the biggest limiting factor is people's time. So how can we help you feel the best? As fast as possible. So that's one way that we do that. The infrared heat, um, very specific infrared heat range. It's in the far, the bio resident range of far infrared heat.

So it's deeply penetrating into the body. So we're talking about multiple cell layers, like 6 centimeters into the body. So that's where we get that enhanced fluid flow, unwinding of the fascial tissue and muscle tension, just relaxing in the body. And this is also that bio resident range. basically is mimicking what we're getting from the sun and what we experience when we're in the womb with mom.

So we get that beautiful, soothing, warm heat that's all helping to coax the nervous system out of that fight flight. Interesting. Digest. Amazing. If you've tuned into the show or followed any of our content here at Sleep as a Skill, you may have heard that everyone that we work with wears the Oura Ring.

And as a result, we have amassed a very large database of Oura Ring users and get to see what really moves the needle for people when it comes to their sleep. measurably. Now, because we have so much data around sleep optimization, many ask what they can do to improve their sleep quality. And for years, my answer has been that one of the few things I've seen make such an overnight difference is the use of a quality cooling mattress topper, not just any ordinary topper that claims to be cooling with like gels or what have you, but an actual cooling topper that uses water and can be dynamically adjusted to suit your unique needs and preferences.

Now, this is why I am so excited to announce that 8 Sleep is now an official sponsor of the podcast. I have tested various cooling mattress toppers and fan systems over the years, and none of them have come close to the innovative and customizable, seamless nature of the Eight Sleep system. Not only does it have an autopilot feature to intelligently adjust the temperature of the topper to work in alignment with your body's needs, but it also has additional features that truly set it apart.

So with Eight Sleep, you can enjoy advanced sleep tracking, allowing you to monitor key metrics like heart rate, heart rate variability, and sleep stages, all integrated seamlessly into the app. It also has a dual zone temperature control, which means that you and your partner can each set your own ideal sleep temperature.

Plus the gentle rise wake up technology uses temperature and vibration to wake you up gently and naturally avoiding the jarring sound of an alarm, but it doesn't stop there. There's more, more, more. So the system even includes a smart alarm feature that wakes you up during your lightest. sleep phase. I know a lot of people have asked me about this, and this is included in here within a customizable time window, ensuring you wake up feeling refreshed and ready to start your day.

And for those of you who struggle with snoring, eight sleep has an anti snore feature that adjusts your sleep environment in real time to help reduce snoring and improve overall sleep quality. So this is truly a game changer for anyone serious about optimizing their sleep. So if you're ready to take your sleep to the next level, head on over to eight.

sleep and use the code sleep as a skill. All one word at checkout for a discount.  Okay. You also note detoxification support. Are there any contraindications for people using this or need to kind of pace themselves? Any call outs there? It can, especially if you're going to be using the mat longer than an hour.

So  we set the frequencies up in the sense that we run them 20 minutes on 40 minutes off. You can force the frequencies to run without hurting the mat or hurting yourself because we are in that E. L. F. That extremely low frequency range. You're not going to over pulse yourself. So the contraindications for a healthy person are very little, especially if someone's healing from an acute injury, if they broke a bone or something like that, we recommend if they have the time to be on it two hours a day.

So like an hour in the morning and an hour at night. And what's so cool is that you can be, you know, watching TV or on your, your phone or laptop and still be getting the frequencies while you're doing work. Um, where the contraindications live just because there hasn't been, uh, research studies done on these, these groups to substantiate the data is pregnant women because no one wants to spend millions of dollars where it's not a permanent condition, you know, it's nine months of time.

Um. Although I will say that one of our, our moms does have, she just had her second baby, healthy, happy baby. And she was on her mat during her pregnancy. So we can't tell you not to, but I can't give you my blessing to say that it's okay to either.  We, um, highly recommend anyone that has any sort of electronic implants, um, like a pacemaker to avoid utilizing the frequencies. They can get the benefit from laying on the mat with just the heat. Um, I will say the frequencies are the rock star of the map because they are the ones that are actually at a cellular level, helping to accelerate the healing response. Um, so we talked about detoxification.

Why that happens is that when the frequencies go into the body at a cellular level, they're helping you uptake nutrition and detoxify waste and producing ATP. So, um, what that basically means is our body produces energy at a mitochondrial level. So, uh, middle school science, the little powerhouse of the cell helps your body produce energy more effectively.

Amazing. Yeah, we've spoken a lot about mitochondrial health on the podcast. So that's yet another vote for the alignment. And so how, if someone who is, you know, coming to you and dealing with difficulties with their sleep difficulties, falling asleep, staying asleep, just an overall experience that their sleep is not working.

What might you recommend between the Zen Mat, the Stealth, like how long, or is it just you need a lot more information, more bio individual? So when someone's trying to make a decision, I would say that's the biggest, the number one question we get asked is which mat is right for me and what's the difference between the Stealth and the Zen Mat?

Yeah. The electronic components of both mats are identical, so you're still getting that infrared heat, you're still getting the frequencies, the stones are what makes the difference. Correct. I want to ask whoever is trying to make this decision to trust themselves in the first  Like the first attraction, the first instinct is the right one, whatever one that they think they're going to get the most benefit from without logically having to think about that.

And that sounds really weird coming from a scientist to say that, but like you, like that gut feeling doesn't lie. Like it knows what it needs. Um, we did make the self Matt to help with more of our first responder population that's dealing with mental and emotional issues, trauma, anxiety, depression. Um.

Not only because it's all black and mostly like our male population is like they gravitate towards that and they don't want to get on a purple mat. Although the benefits are substantial in both, uh, there is actually, we were talking about like the PZ electric properties of that black formally in stone.

We have seen, uh, clinically. Now we're working with the counselor in Orlando. That's, yeah. helping veterans verbalize trauma on this mat, um, that they're seeing that they feel like they're, they have an inverse weighted blanket, like they're getting this warm hug and they feel safe on the black carmeline.

So the feeling is different.  So the second mat, the chakra mat, great for 99 percent of the population, very light, very uplifting, very meditative, very peaceful. Um, for someone that is dealing with uppercase T trauma, you can feel ungrounded. Okay. So uppercase  T trauma, then exploring the stealth mat could make a lot of sense for them.

Yeah, for sure. And not that you can't get benefit out of both, but someone that doesn't have.  hasn't experienced a lot of trauma that wouldn't define themselves as overcoming mental and emotional imbalances. Sometimes that self Mac can feel like it's literally pulling them in.  I guess they're like, I'm like going to the floor.

They can't describe it. They're like, I can't get up. Like they just feel like they've gotten sucked into the mat and they're going to be there forever. So. Yeah, it's  definitely a feeling.  Yeah, totally. Okay, well, that's really amazing. And so for those people with the sleep concerns, is it something that you've seen for people just kind of keep playing with it?

Like, keep dosing themselves and expect kind of continual benefits over time. So it is daily compoundingly beneficial. So wherever someone's at on whether a healing journey or an athlete optimizing their wellness, you can benefit from having P. M. F. Frequencies in your body again. It's like we think about charging all of our devices like this is a totally normal thing, but we never think about recharging our body.

And the biggest issue is that we've put ourselves in these beautiful boxes that on rubber sold shoes that have disconnected us from our charging pad, which is the earth.  So this is a tool to be able to do that. My caveat when you asked about, you know, a sleep protocol for someone, um, do have, uh, our, our frequencies.

So this OSRM technology that we are operate on. So this is kind of our patent pending technology. So organic Schumann resonance mimicking technology, we have eight frequency programs in the mat that mimic the harmonics of the Schumann resonance.  And they mimic brainwaves as well. So that P one setting 1.

2 hertz, that's the pulse rate. So 1. 2 pulses per second is this low and slow matching delta brainwave state that helps prepare our brain and body for sleep. So for someone that's actively having challenges with sleep right before bed doing a 20 minute session at that 1. 2 hertz. A lot of times people will fall asleep on the mat, which again, there's no risks to falling asleep on it.

The fact that your body is sleeping and in that rest response state is the best thing that we can hope to and ask for because that's where we regenerate and heal ourselves most effectively. Um, for someone that Is super sensitive. Actually, they might not even know they're sensitive when the sun is setting.

I wouldn't recommend doing higher or more stimulating frequencies. So you get to choose your frequency range, one to 50 hertz when the sun sets, and we should be calming our body down 14 hertz and below starts to tell the body, Hey, like. You know, not only do we see this in our eyes, you know, the sun is setting, it's dark, but we still have all this blue light around us typically.

And, you know, with our screens and everything. So having a tool that helps reinforce that it's time for bed. So the body doesn't think it's still in work mode. Yeah, so good. Okay. So having said all that, I know that's a lot of information for people, especially if they're just learning about this before we find out about how you're managing your own sleep.

Are there any additional things that we didn't hit on around PMF or the line mat or how it stands out from the rest of the kind of competition and any other call outs? Yeah, I mean, you did mention price earlier and it's like these things can be really unattainable and Mike and myself as practitioners, like wanting to make something accessible, um, was really important to us.

And we are practitioners ourselves. We both have been on our own healing journey. Mine was physically, his was mentally and emotionally. So we really come from that place of like understanding that we were. In this journey for so long. I mean, I've had gut issues since I was a kid. Um, really wanting to help reach more people.

And we realized that soon on when we combined our practice like that was our main question. We're like, we're walking with people for 12 to 18 months in our one on one clinical practice. How do we reach more people? And we wanted to create a tool that was accessible that you didn't have to drive to a wellness center that you didn't have to book an appointment somewhere and continue to pay for sessions.

Um, so, yeah, we have it. I think 1 of the most reasonably priced  devices on the market. There's. There are high intensity devices that range from 35 to 50, 000. And, um, there's products on Amazon that frankly scare me because they're not E. M. F. Free. They're not really grounded. There's no founded information and in these products that are just getting thrown up on there.

So we've put 2. 5 years of research and development, really a lot of integrity and attention into every single component that goes into the mat, um, to make sure that you're going to have the best experience. And it's really going to help. You every single day feel better tomorrow than you did today and better the next day than you did.

So, um, yeah, we want to be actively creating this community that heals together on this journey and meeting people where they're at. Um, and, and just speaking to like the price component as well. It's like, we even offer in house financing, which I think is super important for us, or we're not judging people based upon, um, you know, medical bills, because a lot of people are coming to us with chronic issues, looking to feel better.

And we truly believe that we can help change the tide, um, in the future way that we heal ourselves. Ah, I love that. So well said. Well, having said that, knowing that, you know, you've been on your journey as you've shared, both of you have been on your journeys, I'm very curious to hear how you're managing your own sleep.

So our first question that we ask everyone is, what does your nightly sleep routine look like right now? And also very curious to hear how you're using the mat throughout all this. Yeah. So first thing that we always tell people, so like, can we sleep on the mat? I'm like, yes. With the heat off. Yeah. And two, you want to be comfortable.

So if you don't find that laying on the mat, even if you, so you can put it underneath the fitted sheet on top of your mattress and even put like a foam layer on it and the frequencies will come through, which is super cool because people are like, I don't want to just lay on a bed of rocks. That doesn't feel really comfortable to me.

If you are not sleeping comfortable. Like, don't do it. So yes, we have, we don't sleep on our mats. We do a 20 minute session before bed at the sleep setting. Um, we crawl into bed. It's cool in our room. It's completely dark. It's quiet. Um, so we like that set and setting, um, having a completely EMF free white zone in our room.

So our phones aren't in our rooms. We don't have TV. Um, Yeah, like that's super, super important, like non negotiables. And that's something that we've worked really hard at for a long time. Um, is the frequencies just because we're being bombarded with these all the time and they interrupt our brain waves, which doesn't allow us to get great sleep.

So that's. Substantial for us. Um, we rotate in depending on I guess what's going on in our world. We're really busy with the growth of the company and, um, we do work overseas. So sometimes we have late nights. So I will say in some cases, like as much as I'd love to have the proper circadian balance, like falling asleep soon after the sun sets and waking up when it rises.

I am a proponent of that. I just where my life's at right now. We're not adhering to that. Um,  just making sure that I'm getting quality sleep when I do go to bed. So if that requires me to take like a liposomal melatonin, um, I will do that on, on occasion. Um, I believe that it might be the only exogenous hormone or hormone taken exogenously that doesn't impact, uh, what our body produces naturally internally.

Cause it's, literally our master antioxidant. So I'm not against utilizing a good quality well sourced melatonin. And then sometimes like an L theanine and just making sure I'm, I'm hydrated. I think that's, that's the biggest thing is proper hydration for good sleep as well. Absolutely. I love that stack.

Amazing. And then what might your morning sleep routine look like with the idea that how we start our day could impact our sleep? Yeah. So the most important thing for me is to get sunshine first thing in the morning. So I am very blessed that I live in a very sunny place. So I get to go outside. Um, I want to be barefoot in the grass.

I'm in a bathing suit. Even if it's cold out, I don't, I We cold plunge. We sauna in the morning. So, um, that is my staff. Like I'll go outside first thing in the morning. Um, get in the grass. I do a specific set of egoscue exercises, which is like a very specialized, like postural training. Um, I was a gymnast, so I've had a lot of, like, injuries and imbalances that this helps me correct.

I take the infrared sauna and then I cold plunge, which I've never liked being cold in my life. I'm from Florida and it was something super resistant to, but after, you know, working my way up to, cause I also had a lot of nervous system dysregulation, um, getting to a place where it felt safe for me to do this, this mental and emotional training for myself.

It has been one of the major things that helped me feel super charged every single day. Like just how I start my day and I.  You have anything that you've landed on as far as Temperature like the time you're playing with it, you're going to laugh, but it's decently warm in air temperature wise. It's in like, you know, between like the forties and the sixties, but the water temperatures between like 47 and 55.

So we're just going in the pool.  Yeah, like it's just what's available. Um, I, I'm not a proponent of chlorine. It's a saltwater pool, but um,  also the fact that you're not heating it and your, your pores are closed. So I'm not like too stressed about it, but yeah, it's, it's literally when it's cold, it's cold to me.

People are like, Oh, you know, Mike, Mike's from the Northeast. So when it's like 55, he's like, it's not that cold. I'm like, Once I'm cold, I'm cold. It doesn't matter to me. Like it's me going to monk status and just like, you know, meditating and breathing and being present.  I love it. No, a hundred percent. And then there's also the argument for women that that could be beneficial as well, potentially a lot of, you know, kind of things that people are exploring on the specifics with cold plunging.

So I love that. Great. Yeah. I mean, I never thought  it was just such a fad. I'm like, I'm not really for things that are fads, but like. don't knock it until you try it kind of thing. So see how you feel. And I feel like everybody's journey so deeply individual, um, wasn't ready for it until recently. And now it's something that I feel like is like unlock this superpower.

It just helps me think more clearly, feel more calm. Um, I have rain odds as well. So like that was one of the biggest fears where I'm like, I don't want to be cold site. My body shuts off blood circulation and my extremities. And it's actually been helping me manage that better. So  Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, oh, good.

Okay. I mean, and then what might we see in your nightstand or in your environment? So, uh, we have an Austin air filter. Absolutely love that. Especially that, you know, we talk a lot about chemtrails without being too woo woo, but we know that they're aerosolizing chemicals and geoengineering. So definitely want to make sure that the air quality that we have is as clean as possible.

Um, Talked about like blackout shades. So we definitely want to sleep in a cave like setting at night. Uh, I did mention that I do have, um,  I actually use tallow on my skin. So you'll see that on my nightstand and  doing a methylene blue tallow blend, which has been really interesting.  All right. So interesting thing about methylene blue, which I've shared with a couple of people, especially in the space.

And they're still, have you heard of Luko methylene blue?  Think so. Sure. Okay. So it's a chemical reaction that happens when you take methylene blue and mix it with a sorbic acid. So vitamin C crystals. So it takes the blue dye out of it, which is really cool and kind of fun just to watch. So it goes from this inky dark blue to a very light, light blue.

Um, and what's really beneficial and why I would take this. So this is actually something I would say in my morning stack. I don't do every single day. Um, but to help supercharge the mitochondria, it goes straight to your central nervous system and it's more bioavailable for your body to absorb. Um, And it doesn't stay in your blue.

Oh, benefits galore. Okay. Has that been part of the stack that you brought in? I absolutely love incorporating it. I wouldn't say it's something that I do every single day, but it's like on a neat, like as needed basis. So like yesterday was one of those days where I'm like, let's jumpstart the week. And I feel, feel called to do that.

You know, antioxidant brain boosting. So good. Amazing. Okay. And then our last question is, what would you say to date has made the biggest change to how you've been managing your sleep or said another way, maybe biggest aha moment in managing your sleep. So I will say some, uh, I don't think I mentioned I'm a functional diagnostic nutrition practitioner.

So that was like, The result of my 10 year on my own healing journey. I had learned so much and got these credentials looking for ways to help myself heal. Yes. That in that process is kind of like the icing on the cake for me once I got all of this clinical data on myself and had recommendations from one of my mentors on how to shift, changing my sleep schedule because I was always going to bed after midnight and sleeping every hour of sleep you get before midnight in quality is worth to after.

So you're just your sleep quality goes down after midnight.  I have experienced and when this happens for me that when I go to bed at 10 p. m. and wake up at 6 a. m. and I get that eight hour block of sleep, my hormones regulated almost immediately. Like it's been two weeks of just shifting my sleep earlier so it's getting deeper.

Deeper sleep, better quality of sleep. And I wasn't even measuring this. It was actual physical changes that were happening in my body and they happened really fast. So, um, yeah, circadian rhythm, like we can't get away from this. Like I'll, I'll say I'm a night owl, but biologically we'll never be night night owls any sort of owl.

So it's just not possible. Um, and anyone that's struggling with. Um, fatigue issues, hormonal imbalances, like just trying to shift your sleep earlier. Um, that was probably the number one thing I saw super quickly that changed. I love that. Okay. And I know we've talked about a lot of different topics. Was there anything else that we left out or that we want to underscore for anyone listening that's struggling with their sleep and maybe hadn't considered something like PMF for all the many stacks that you have within the mat?

So the crystals infrared and beyond. So the mat itself is just a singular product, but the benefits are far reaching. So what I say is like, you know, you are an end of one, there's no one in the world that is like you and telling you what the mat is going to do for you. It's like, it's, it's various, right?

So it's the most unique thing in the world. Whether it can help with someone's sleep, it can give the next person more energy. It can help someone else reduce pain.  The idea and the goal of the frequency therapy is that it's meeting you where you are at at the time that you're using it and your body is going to take from it what it needs.

So never underestimate the infinite wisdom that you have in every single cell in your body that desires to heal every moment of every day. So that's really what I want to leave people with is that they have everything that they need within themselves. The mat is a tool just to help them accelerate that healing response and help their body perform more effectively.

Oh, I love that. Such an important kind of message to end on too, because we do see that when people are showing up to a podcast like this, they might be in all different places with their sleep. Now, some people are optimizing and some people are sleeping fine. They just want to improve the loop scores or rang, you know, all of that, which is great.

But then there are other people that they found themselves here because they've got acute things going on. Suddenly they can't fall asleep, they can't stay asleep, they're dealing with sleep disorders, just can sometimes feel helpless, hopeless. So I think to underscore that healing piece and then something that could so markedly help support that journey is just so great.

So thank you for that. Yeah. And then for anyone listening, it's like, okay, I want to test this out or, you know, follow you and the work that you're all doing or just continue to learn more. What are the best ways to do all of that? So you can check us out and get some more information at my alignmat. com and that's m y a l i g n m a t dot com.

And you can check us out on every platform, uh, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and it's at my alignmat as well. Amazing. And for anyone listening, is there any call outs as far as like where it can ship to or with the, with the weights and crystals and returns or anything? If people, I know it can be a big purchase for some people, like any considerations there?

Yeah. Good question. Thanks for asking. So the lower 48 of the country, we actually ship for free. So if you can imagine shipping a 35 pound mat and it's. Literally as, as big as me. I'm only five one, so it's funny when I like walk around holding that. Um, it comes in a carrying case in a bag. So yes, even though I'm tiny, I can still carry it without a problem, but it does ship for free in the lower 48.

Um, we ship for Canada for a flat rate as well as, um, Hawaii and, and Alaska.  If anyone else, we ship worldwide as well. It just requires someone to reach out to us, uh, our emails info at my alignmat. com. And we can quote you a direct rate to get it to whether it's the UK, we have mats in Australia. So it wanted Dubai.

So it can go wherever. And we also provide, um, step down power. So like we designed it and developed for North America. We're on 110 volts. If you're somewhere in the world that has two 20, we do provide a free power converter as well. Oh, very cool. Okay. Well, really great. You know, cause I mean, I don't know about some listeners.

I grew up with not a lot of money really thinking through some of these purchases. And yet, as I shared, like, again, we just moved. So I'm looking at boxes and boxes and I see just a whole collection of gadgets that just did not make the cut. And yet I see the alignment out front center and really, really just making such a difference for me and how I'm thinking about things that can be in my back pocket to really help support like this true healing journey.

Not to mention, I've had a number of friends who've been going through different times in their lives, breakups and like changes in their, in their business and life and what have you. And they are like flocking to this thing. So it's really, really amazing. So thank you for the work you do and for taking the time.

Thank you for having me and thank you for sharing this technology because it's helping all of us reeducate our nervous system, what it means to be home in our body, what home basis feels like.
